Linda Zang Clinic
Linda Zang - WOW!
On the last weekend of April, FCDA hosted a clinic with Linda Zang of Davidsonville, MD. The clinic was limited to 10 riders per day, and Bobbi Bullard had everything running like clockwork. All of the volunteers did a wonderful job. The part we couldn’t figure out was, why weren’t there more auditors.
As far as clinicians go, Linda Zang is one of the best that FCDA has ever had. Her eye is incredible (did I mention, that she is an Olympic level judge), and she was able to pick out our faults, and fix them. She took everyone back to a level where she could fix the problem that they may not have known that they had, and then showed then how to use the new positioning in their work. She had great exercises for everyone, and treated everyone like good friends. Everyone got their horses going straighter and more uphill than they had been, and their gaits improved with this new straightness. She had so many sayings, I needed help remembering these. I should have been writing them down. I’ll know better next time.
A Trip Across The Pond
To paraphrase the beginning of a well-known movie…A long time ago in a land far, far away...
In January of 2011, that opening seemed appropriate for the adventure of which we were invited to partake. Now that we have returned from the ride of a lifetime, It seems that we have made our world just a wee bit smaller than what it was. Yes, the six hour airplane ride was a wee bit shorter than the projected seven hours and ten minutes, and the strangers that we stayed with were only strangers for a moment, but, now, it truly does seem like we just took a trip across the pond.
